Tropical Oasis Summer Jewelry Collection

In May, I took a personal vacation to Hawai’i with a cousin of mine. This was the first time I had visited the islands, and I was blown away. The scenery was varied, colorful, and ever-changing. The flowers were vibrant. The oceans were crystal clear and varied in their blue hues. We saw white and black sand beaches. And we got to explore Volcano National Park, which I’m convinced is unlike any other National Park. 

Everywhere I turned I saw beauty. I was at a loss of words because the word beautiful didn’t adequately describe what I was seeing. The whole trip was incredible. 

When I came back, I couldn’t get the scenery out of my mind. 

Quick footnote to this current story: about three years ago, I got an idea of creating a tropical-inspired jewelry collection for a summer release. With this in mind I bought several elements for these designs. I even named the eventual collection: the Tropical Oassis jewelry collection. But I couldn’t quite find the inspiration needed to turn them into finished jewelry designs. 

Then, I went to Hawai’i. With so much island beauty around me, I knew that the sun-filled sights would inspire my jewelry designs. And I knew that the Tropical Oasis jewelry collection would finally become a reality.

I pulled out these elements, and matching gemstones in greens, blues, reds, yellows, and blacks. I mixed colors together inspired by the contrasting colors that live in harmony together in Hawai’i. I opted for more golds to match the sun-filled sky. This is probably the most fun I’ve had creating a collection in quite a while and I’m thrilled my creativity allowed me to explore a different destination this summer. As a result, I worked in the tropics for the past several months and created quite a large collection filled with variety of color and shapes. I love the contrasting colors that are paired so naturally together. I love the vibrancy of this collection.
